Condolence & Memory Journal

"Going up Party & Celebration of Life" aka "funeral"----
All of us have been to many funerals over the years, and it was always a sad and depressing affair leaving most people in tears and thinking of nothing but "the end"!
Ed's "going up party" was such a contrast! Illustrations of the highlights of his exciting life and all the family and people he enjoyed were on display. And many relatives shared their experiences with him and family. The Deacon who spoke at his burial was most dedicated but upbeat on the leaving and going up!
And the luncheon at the WSSC after was a wonderful opportunity for relatives and friends to exchange remembrances and bring each other up to date on their lives.
All in all, it was a wonderful "going up party" All traditional depressing funerals should be changed over to something positive as a step in our lives.
Congratulations to Ed's family for leading the way.

Sincerely, Bob Hale (next-door neighbor for over 7 decades.

To Eddie's family:
Our thoughts & prayers are with all of you during this very difficult time.
What a wonderful man Eddie was. A perfect gentleman & an unassuming guy. We have know him through the WSSC for many years. We enjoyed seeing him at the club playing cards everyday!
May he Rest In Peace.
God Bless!
With sympathy,
Janet, Bill & Billy Bloom

I was Eddie's neighbor for 7 decades. I knew him first the year he graduated from Tufts. Ever after, he had many interests and many friends, and was always very happy and active ---hunting, fishing, boating, gardening, card playing--name it and he enjoyed it. Also active in community as one of presidents of the West
Side Social Club. All plus having great parents, and later a wonderful companion for many years.
It was only for the past year that his health was deteriorating , and he was lucky enough to leave quickly and quietly with no long-term treatments and suffering.
What a life--I hope that he is as happy in the hear after and makes contacts with all his wonderful worldly friends and family.
Good Luck and God Bless, Bob Hale
